On Friday check out the First Friday Día de los Muertos @ Summit Assembly Hall at Bluebird Market in Silverthorne at 5.30 pm. This lively and educational event aims to foster cultural diversity and understanding within the community by celebrating Dia de los Muertos, a joyful commemoration where the living and deceased unite to revel in the richness of life.

First Friday attendees can partake in face painting, live music, dancing, savor traditional foods like Champurrado and Pan de Muerto, engage in crafts for children, admire living statues honoring Latino cultural figures, and more. Children can also enjoy pinata-breaking sessions at 6:15 and 7:15 p.m.

In addition, community members are welcome to contribute to the November First Friday decorations or craft their own traditional Latin art, such as pinatas, papel picado, and cempasúchil flowers, during free art classes open to all ages. These classes take place on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Art Spot.

On Sunday participate in an engaging adult oil painting class, where you’ll have the opportunity to craft a fresh painting every week. This creative journey will introduce you to the use of oils, solvents, brushes, and supports, allowing you to develop proficiency in diverse techniques and styles. No prior experience is required, as all necessary supplies are provided. Immerse yourself in the joy of crafting your unique artwork on a weekly basis!
