Breckenridge Ski Resort Co

Magnificent Breckenridge Ski Resort CO

Breckenridge Ski Resort CO, owned and operated by Vail Resorts, is one of the most popular ski resorts in the western region of the USA. Many will argue that it is one of the best resorts that offers world-class skiing and snowboarding terrain. Breckenridge mountain is a part of the southern half of the Tenmile Range and it extends over the five peaks, most of which sits above 12,000 feet. All five peaks are connected which allows you to ski from one end to another. The mountain is very different from the other ones across the world. The terrain rests on one side of the town which not only offers an open view of the range but makes it for a unique skiing destination with easy access to and from the town.

If you have never been here, Breckenridge Ski Resort CO is known for gnarly bowls, a diverse landscape, and incredible terrain parks, but most importantly the town has contagious energy! We locals call it The Breck Effect. Catch it!

Breckenridge Ski Resort CO Mountain Peaks

There is a total of five peaks with 187 trails and 2,908 acres of terrain.

Peak 6

Peak 6 is the latest extension to the Breckenridge Ski Resort CO. It was opened on December 25th, 2013. This peak is located to the north of Peak 7. For your comfort of accessing the Peak 6, you can enjoy a high-speed six-person lift – Kensho SuperChair. Opening peak 6 was the biggest expansion of the resort in Northern American. It opened up 543 acres of new terrain. The majority of the terrain is accessible by the lift (about 400 acres) and the remaining 142 acres acre accessible by hiking. Most of the terrain is above the treeline and is really-wide open. It is best for intermediate skiers and riders, but you will find plenty of advanced areas. The Peak 6 slogan is Awake Your Sixth Sense!

Peak 7

Peak 7 is available for those who have already got some skiing or snowboarding experience. It offers only intermediate and advanced terrain. Note that there are no beginner trails on Peak 7. There is signage about it all over, therefore even if you are new to Breckenridge Ski Resort Co, you can’t miss that information. Peak 7 is great for those who don’t necessarily like moguls and enjoy smooth sailing. All because the trails on Peak 7 are groomed every night. At the base of Peak 7, there are two ski-in and ski-out lodges: Crystal Peak Lodge and Grand Lodge. Those lodges offer premium accommodation. Peak 7 has a midway station for the BreckConnect Gondola, therefore you have great and easy access to downtown Breckenridge, Co. If you are interested in learning more or viewing Crystal Peak Lodge for sale or Grand Lodge for sale, please feel free to contact me.

Peak 8

Ach, what I can say, good Peak 8! It is the heart of the Breckenridge Ski Resort Co. This peak was the first to be opened and the only one for the longest time. The BreckConnect Gondola that starts its ride downtown Breckenridge, takes you right to the base of Peak 8. Since it is a centrally located peak in the southern part of the Ten Mile Range, you can easily get connected anywhere else on the mountain. Go south and you will end up on Peak 9 and further on Peak 10. Go north and you will enjoy Peak 7 and Peak 6. The great part about Peak 8 is that it is accessible to everyone. At the base of Peak 8, you can enjoy the beginner runs. However, the higher you go, you will encounter the more advanced terrain, perfect for avid skiers and riders. Peak 8 has something for everyone. Starting from kid’s trails, Breckenridge ski school, huge terrain park, Dew Tour, three restaurants and the highest chair lift in North America. What else one can need?

Peak 8 Summertime

Come summertime, Peak 8 changes to the adventure Park. Epic Discovery offers plenty of attractions such as the Breckenridge Alpine Coaster, TenMile Flyer Zipline, Alpine Challenge Course, Bounce House, Bungee Trampoline, Silver & Gold Summit Climbing Wall, Climber Ropes Course, Mineshaft Maze, Mini Golf, Gemstone Panning, Lil’s Nugget Tubing, and Alpine Slide.

Peak 9

Peak 9 is the second oldest peak at Breckenridge Ski Resort CO. It is also a fairly gentle peak, therefore you will see that there are a lot of beginner skiers and riders that are enjoying being strapped to skis or snowboards for the first time in their life. With that, you can notice a lot of signage that requests for slow speed or marks the learning trails. It is also a common peak fo the Breckenridge Ski School and BOEC center to have their classes there. However, as you get higher on Peak 9 you will get to intermediate runs that are marked as blue trails. If you are advanced skier or rider, you can still enjoy some of the double black runs on peak 9. They are located on the north-facing ridge, where it lacks direct sun. Ger prepared for some challenging terrain with very icy areas. In the summer though, Peak 9 is a nice and easy hike that offers views at Gore and Front Range.

Peak 10

Peak 10 is the last of Breckenridge’s Peaks in the Tenmile Range. It is also the highest one. Being at 13,633 feet you will enjoy gorgeous views of the Tenmile Range, Gore Range, Fron Range, and the Mosquito Range. Embrace yourself for Peak 10 that only offers expert terrain. If you head over that way, be ready to glide down black and double black trails, which plenty of them are groomed daily. If you are an advanced skier or rider, you will enjoy this peak. Since it is not available to all levels of skiers and riders, Peak 10 tends to be the least crowded peak at Breckenridge Ski Resort CO, allowing you to do plenty of laps. Falcon SuperChair is the only lift operated at Peak 10. The great news is that Falcon SuperChair is a fast, 6-person chairlift (which means even more laps!)
