What is the Accommodation Unit License?

The owner of an accommodation unit in Breckenridge that is rented on a short-term basis is required to purchase an accommodation unit license. Short-term rental means nightly rentals of less than 30 consecutive days.

The annual fees

Studio Unit $75.00

One-Bedroom Unit $100.00

Two-Bedroom Unit $125.00

Three-Bedroom Unit $150.00

Four or more Bedroom Unit $175.00

BOLT

BOLT stands for Business and Occupational Licenses and Tax. In 1986, the Town of Breckenridge created BOLT to fund a community marketing program, designed to promote Breckenridge as a high-quality, year-round destination resort. BOLT funds are raised through the sale of business and short-term accommodation unit licenses.

I just bought a property in Breckenridge. Now what?

All new property owners will receive a letter from the Finance and Municipal Services Division. Complete the Accommodation Unit Information form and return it within 30 days. You can apply for the accommodation unit license at the Town of Breckenridge website.
